The Risk-workshop plugin helps you identify, assess and manage risks. You can either use the plugin as part of a one-off workshop, or to act as master data for all risks over time. Even though the tool is designed with project managers in mind, the tool can be used by individuals or organizations in any situation where risks are to be managed.
The following page gives you all the basic information to get started.
To get started, you first have to install the tool from Miro's marketplace, which you can find by clicking the button "Get more apps" on the top the page, as is illustrated below:
After installing, you should now have a new app "Risk assessment" that. If you click the new app you should get up a panel like the following, which contains a button "Create Area".
When you click the button, an area with two arrows and text for "Probability" and "Impact" should appear as below.
You can now start to work in the tool.
To add risks to the tool, you just create (or drag and drop) post-it notes onto the area.
All post-it notes that are on the area will now appear in a table in the panel (that can be opened from the app menu if it has been closed). The risks in the table will be ordered according to severity (probability x impact), using the center of each card as the position to evaluate the post-it. The sizes of each post-it does not matter.
Developing proper risk responses are an important part of managing risks. In Risk-Workshop, risks can have - and many times should have - many risk responses. To create a risk response, you need to use the table in the panel. You create a new risk response for a risk by clicking on the + sign next to the risk.
Doing that creates a new yellow post-it note on top of the risk in the risk-workshop area in Miro, as shown below.
You can now edit and move this post-it note, and it will always be associated with the risk. It can be useful to make the risk responses smaller, sometimes connecting it with arrows if desired.
You can now repeat the process to create more risk responses for each risk. If you find that the resulting view becomes too crowded, you can hide the risk responses by unchecking the "Show actions on the canvas" at the top of the panel.
There is an Excel export that is very useful that you can access by clicking the "Export to Excel" button on the top of the panel. This export also contains all historical records of changes to risks over time, so can be used to show how risks have increased or decreased as risks have been reassessed.
